Born in Brazil, trained in London with a Bachelor of Honours in Painting. Sandra has developed a diverse practice incorporating PORTRAITURE and ABSTRACT WORK.
COMMISSIONED PORTRAITS Sandra has combined her love of 'Art and People' creating unique contemporary portraits. These are individually commissioned, based on digital photographs taken by the artist who together with you works in choosing the picture which most captures likeness and spirit making the experience of being painted as special as the portraits themselves. Her fascination with the human head has led her to painting often in a large scale as well as enforcing the particular way in which she zooms in filling the canvas with the face honouring your loved one.
Portraits are very HIP again! Sandra has painted many children as well as adults, oils on canvas and signed.
ABSTRACT PAINTINGS Artist's statement. 'This work is based on the concept of emotions and thoughts; very personal to me. There is subjectivity in the paint handling and compositional thinking. I would like the viewer to become involved in the visible painting history of the multi layered work and its physicality. Tracing back the richness of the oil paint, the
creamy texture of the brush strokes, the chance element of the dripping, the unpredictable accident of paint contrasted by the decisiveness and presence of the palette knife'.
Sandra works with Galleries, Art consultants, Architects and Interior Designers. Paintings can be viewed in her studio or commissioned. Works have been purchased by Private Collectors, Banking corporations.
